Millington Springs is a care home facility that puts residents at the heart of service delivery. Our philosophy values the importance of respecting and honouring older adults in their later life. We understand that without each and every one of our residents, our aspirations of creating a responsive care environment would be unachievable. Millington Springs provides a comfortable home environment that reflects residents’ life histories, celebrates their contributions to our society and supports future health.

Millington Springs is a home where we Care for Life.

Care Plans

The cornerstone of our resident’s care is the individualised Care Plan. A Care Plan is designed to be owned by our residents and their nominated representatives, they are each encouraged to be engaged in the types of support we offer to them as nursing and residential home. Care Plans are formulated at the point of entry to Millington Springs and are a cohesive agreement between our clinical staff, the care home manager and the resident and their families. The Care Plan is the map that guides the care for each resident including personal preferences, care need, risk, well-being and observes emotional and psychological wellbeing. Care plans are reviewed on a regular basis and are written in clear language so that it can be used and understood by all.

Safeguarding and Protection

Millington Springs and its employees understand that older adults are amongst the most vulnerable in our society. A care home facility like any other social institution can unconsciously perpetuate inequality and overlook dignity.

Being aware of the potential for bad practise allows us to guarantee an unshakeable commitment to advocacy in the best interest of our residents. This commitment is underpinned by robust policies and procedures. Such dignity, safeguarding, risk management policies and risk assessment tools will reflect national safeguards including Deprivation of Liberty (DOLs), Duty of Candour, Mental Capacity Act, The Care Programme Approach (CPA), Infection Control and national guidance on Falls prevention. All our staff are highly trained and are required to undergo a Disclosure Barring Service before they begin working for us.

Staffing

At Millington Springs, our staff are passionate, skilled and outstandingly trained in accordance with national standards as required by the Care Quality Commission.

Our nurses oversee the care provided by the care team and ensure that our care philosophy is upheld at all times. Health care professionals are employed to support the clinical and care team to deliver a first class care provision.

Therefore, we are committed to recruiting, developing, managing and inspiring our team of employees.  Our structure is designed to reflect our ethos of motivational leadership, high quality skilled carers, qualified nurses who lead and shape high quality clinical care, and ancillary staff who support the smooth running of the home.
